“I went for a ride, so I stopped by to tell you about it.”
The latest model from LS2 has been launched at dealers, the Drifter street-function helmet.
You have to understand that it is an Open Face helmet (half-face open face) that has added a detachable chin strap function, increasing protection against dust, rocks, and sand, making it safer and more comfortable when riding long distances.
It is not an enduro helmet that can be used for riding through forests or jumping hills. Because the chin strap is soft and can be twisted, it is not suitable for heavy riding or hard crashing like an enduro helmet. Understand the character of the helmet well before choosing to use it in the wrong way or for the wrong type.
OF606 Drifter: Its advantages are that the inner padding is easy to wear, soft and comfortable. It is quite light in weight, making it easy to turn when wearing it while driving. It is comfortable to wear and easy to control, like a riding instructor’s helmet. The sunglasses cover the entire eye area, making it convenient to wear while driving in the city.
When the chin or mouth set is installed, it increases protection even more when driving long distances, preventing dust, rocks, sand, and dirt from hitting the face or flowing back inside. The chin set is soft, lightweight, and has an air-cutting shape, so it can be ridden comfortably at travel speeds (not exceeding 140 km/h).
Which if used for riding with a car with a high windshield like a big scooter, touring, I can tell you that it is comfortable and worry-free. I tested it on a long-distance trip with the CBR500R sports car and it was still comfortable to ride at high speed. I can tell you that other types of cars are also very chill.
Peak (top gap) is designed to cut through the wind well. There is no much wind resistance. Even when riding through strong gusts of wind, it still does not cause much damage. It can be said that it has a surprising result. Even though it can be removed, I think that putting the peak on makes it look a lot more stylish.
Personally, I like to use this type of functional helmet more than the standard open-face half helmets because it can be adjusted in shape. For leisure riding, working in the city, you can remove the chin guard to make it a half helmet. For long-distance riding, you can attach the chin guard. That’s all you need to feel comfortable in just one helmet…
